Community first, opportunity after.

Aman was the person artists called when the music was finished and the rest of it was not. He produced, wrote and engineered the records, then built the websites, designed the logos, put together the EPKs, organised the photoshoots and videoshoots and mapped out the careers. When an artist needed a lighting designer, a videographer or a photographer, he knew who to ring. "I was constantly building teams around artists," he says.

Then the businesses started to notice. Brands that needed the right creative for a job began coming to the same source, and the pattern behind it became hard to ignore.

The gap

Creatives, Aman had come to see, were yearning for community, and some of their strongest growth came through collaboration. He had spent years building those networks by hand. "I started thinking: why should everyone have to go through the same process?"

It is 2026, and finding like-minded creatives, building trusted relationships and discovering opportunities is still far harder than it should be. ftured is his answer. "I wanted to create the platform I wish I had when I was coming up, somewhere creatives could find their people, collaborate and grow without having to navigate everything alone."

The people who joined him came at the same problem from different directions: sociology and the arts, music, brand and visual identity. "In a way, ftured has naturally come together because it needs to exist for people like us."

Community before the job

ftured is an app where creatives build a portfolio on an infinite canvas, create and share moodboards, discover opportunities, post jobs and connect with one another. Astro, its AI assistant, finds relevant connections and makes the warm introductions. Over time it is meant to take on more of a creative's professional life, from projects and timelines to tasks and payments. For businesses and anyone looking to work with creatives, an Explore experience makes it easier to find the right person.

Plenty of platforms are built around landing a job or promoting yourself. Aman wanted the order reversed. "We believe real opportunity comes from who you know, who trusts you and who you collaborate with." The foundation comes first, and the work grows out of it.

The people he has in mind range widely. A young artist looking for a first collaborator. A designer building a network. A wedding planner searching for a photographer. Maybe it is a last-minute DJ gig, or a filmmaker to work with, or someone on the other side of the world worth travelling to collaborate with. The platform is built with that reach in mind from the start. "We want people to come to ftured and find something they didn't know they were looking for."

A physical room

The app is preparing to launch alongside a major event bringing together fashion, live music, performances, creative showcases and industry conversations. A series is also underway telling the stories of eight leaders across the community.

The physical counterpart is ftured Gallery in Coburg, Victoria. Where a traditional gallery hangs picture frames, this one uses digital screens to show creative work. It will also host workshops, networking events and exhibitions, and give creatives a place to sell and show what they make. The longer vision has galleries in major cities around the world, each one a hub that connects back to the community.

Further out sits a ftured ID with perks and benefits for creatives worldwide, annual events leading to a festival, and an academy and foundation offering educational pathways online and in person. "We're building an ecosystem around creativity."

The hard part

Aman does not dress up the road to here. "It's been hard." He expected people to understand what ftured was and get behind it straight away. Pitching to investors and brands has shown him otherwise, and some do not take a company like this seriously at first. He has worked other jobs, from support work to mixing music, while building it, and there were stretches when it felt like doing everything at once.

What carried him was the team. "Having people in your corner gives you the strength to keep going." He has lost some friends along the way and gained people he trusts completely, people who believed in ftured from the beginning. For now the company is bootstrapped, until the right investment and the right partners arrive.

Since its conception in late 2023, ftured has gathered more than 2,000 creatives on its waitlist, produced more than six sold-out events and worked with some of the world's leading brands. Aman still describes it as having scratched the surface. "Despite how hard it has been, I've never felt happier or more content with what I'm doing."

What success looks like

He measures it differently from most founders. User numbers and company size matter less than whether the platform does its job. He wants businesses and families to see creativity as a serious and sustainable career, and creatives to be properly valued and to feel they belong somewhere.

"If someone comes to ftured feeling isolated and leaves with a collaborator, a job, a mentor, a friend or simply a renewed sense of purpose, then we've done something meaningful."

Asked whether he has doubts, he does not hesitate. "I don't have a second thought or doubt that ftured can succeed. I believe it needs to exist, and I'm willing to keep going until it does."
